William H. Reed High School, Napoleonville, Louisiana, Assumption Parish, is activated on today. The history of the school emphasizes  the effort by the African Americans in Napoleonville to educate themselves, and this is emblematic of the times and the struggle.

Sevier High School, Ferriday, Louisiana, Concordia Parish, the Rams, were activated today. This school has a well established history in the track and field area. The rams enrich this site because their history was emblematic of struggles of the time.

Joseph Celestine High School, Mamou, Louisiana

Joseph Celestine High School, Mamou, Louisiana is the latest entree in the list of African American high schools before 1970. This is another example of the progressive attitudes towards education in the African American population in its infancy.

George Washington Carver High School, DeRidder, Louisiana was entered as the latest addition to historical African American high schools in Louisiana before 1970. The eagles were a force in competition in the state.

Lincoln High School’s entry was modified to include the 1952 year book. Historically this is a gem. Congrats Lincolnites.
