Sevier High School, Ferriday, Louisiana, Concordia Parish has a voluminous collection of historical information. The most recent addition includes photos of the student body. With this addition the Sevier High School site has accumulated over 1400 pages of data. Peruse the site and you will get an idea of the pride and industry of this institution.
W. O. Boston High School, Lake Charles, Louisiana, Calcasieu Parish, though this information is incomplete, hopefully more information regarding its history provided by its alumni will clarify its legacy. W. O. Boston High School was geographically situated in the state and this fact along with its early evolution had historical significance among Louisiana African American high schools. For a long time it was a regional cornerstone of the high school experience in Louisiana. We are eager for its alumni to help us understand its significance by providing documentation so we can visualize the W. O. Boston High School experience.

Bethune Jr-Sr High School’s application to the National Register of Historic Places has been added to the SIGNIFICANT NOTES section of the site. This school was very important because of its importance as a center of education for African American students after its opening in 1961 and the time period of its construction. Bethune Jr-Senior High school is now known as Oak Park Elementary Middle School. Read its history and enjoy the extensive photograph collection.
Jackson High School, Jonesboro, Louisiana, Jackson Parish was born out of hardship, uncertainty, desperation, cooperation, controversy , mistrust and ill-intentions. Successfully weathering the storm it paved the way for its products to engage in American society and the world community.
Crawford High School, Arcadia, Louisiana, Bienville Parish is the latest addition to a growing list of African American high schools in Louisiana. The Crawford history is a progression from local community support to state support. As its identity grew, so did the the search for new mascots to emphasize the growth.
In the past four months, we have obtained and posted information for 50 African American Schools in Louisiana before 1970. We thank all contributors.
There are over 150 schools remaining without a history posting on this site. If you know anyone from these schools, please contact them and introduce them to this website. If you know anyone from any unrepresented schools, please ask them to contribute information to the website.

Thomas A. Levy High School, Rosedale, Louisiana Thomas A. Levy High School, Rosedale, Louisiana is activated today. The tigers have a history consistent with their contemporaries, origin in churches, expansion to the one room school house and then a modern building in 1953.
Charles Drew High School, Eunice, La., St. Landry Parish is activated today. The cobras were true to their namesake in competition.
